Storytime
Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:30 am
We’ve got books, songs, and rhymes at this fun, interactive storytime recommended for ages 2-5 with a parent or caregiver. Storytime will last about 25 minutes followed by optional playtime.

Babytime
Thursdays, 9:30 – 10:00 am
Join us for rhymes, songs, and stories for you and your baby in this infant storytime. This storytime is designed to help develop early literacy skills and encourage language development, as well as to provide caregivers with rhymes and songs to practice with baby and strengthen your bond. Older children are welcome to attend to help with the rhymes and songs for baby! Ages 0 – 18 months.

STEAM Storytime
March 18th & April 22nd, 11am – 12 pm
Our STEAM program has moved to Saturday! Once a month, families with preschool aged children are encouraged to join us for our special Science-Tech-Engineering-Art-Math (STEAM) storytime. The first half of the hour will be a traditional storytime held in the children’s area of the library with rhymes, movement activities, and read-alouds, and the second half will be held in our community room “lab” with STEAM activities inspired by our storytime selections to encourage exploration. Recommended ages 4 – 6.

April 22nd – Rain Exploration

Early Out Wednesdays
Wednesdays, 2:30 – 4:00 pm
Kids can join us for crafts and activities in the meeting room; recommended for grades K-5. Free- no registration is required at this drop-in program. Held on Wednesdays when Norwalk schools are in session and releasing early.

Free Kids Movies: Paddington and Paddington 2
Thursday and Friday, March 9th and 10th, 1:30 pm
Take a Spring Break trip to London with Paddington! On Thursday, we’ll show Paddington (PG, 95 minutes) and on Friday, we’ll show Paddington 2 (PG, 105 minutes). In addition to free popcorn, sample some marmalade, Paddington’s favorite!

Maker Break
Monday, March 13th – Friday, March 17th, 1:00 – 3:00 pm
Get creative during Spring Break! We’ll have a different maker activity for kids each afternoon from March 13th-17th. Recommended for ages 5-11. No registration required, just drop in anytime between 1-3 to join in!

Homeschool Meetup
Thursday, March 23rd, 10:30 am
Homeschooling families are invited to join us to connect with each other and library staff over coffee/cocoa and snacks. We would love to talk about how the library can support your learning. We’ll also have toys and craft activities for kids. (Rescheduled from previously cancelled event.)

Kids Yoga with Happy Heart Yoga and Wellness
Saturdays, March 25th & April 15th, 9:30 am
Happy Heart Yoga and Wellness will teach a 60 minute kids yoga class, open to ages 2-12. These classes are to inspire, strengthen and foster happier more resilient young minds. Inviting your child to connect deeper within themselves and the world around them. Yoga mats are optional, some will be available first come, first serve or you are welcome to bring your own. Free, registration required.

Interactive Drama Workshop
Tuesday, March 28th, 4:00 – 5:00 pm
This workshop will provide a joyful exploration of story dramatization, creative movement and play led by artists from Tutti Frutti, a children’s theatre company based in Leeds, UK. This workshop is geared towards ages 4 – 8. Registration is required. Light afterschool snacks will be provided, and then the dramatic fun will begin!

Play Café
Connect and play at this monthly playgroup! We will provide coffee and tea for parents and caregivers, and themed play experiences recommended for children ages 5 and under.
Friday March 31 10:00 – 11:30 am – Play Café: Little Art Studio
Our March Play Café will feature a variety of art activities! Some will include (washable) paint, so we recommend dressing for mess.
Friday April 28th 10 – 11:30 am – Play Café: Imagination Station
The theme for April’s Play Café is imagination, featuring stations that encourage pretend play and role-playing.

Art Adventure: Doodles and Donuts
Saturday, April 1st, 10:30 – 11:30 am
Draw doodles inspired by the how-to-draw books of Ed Emberley and make them into stickers and pins/magnets at this special donut-filled edition of Art Adventure, where we make art inspired by book illustrators! No registration required, just come by to make some doodles and enjoy some donuts (donuts while supplies last). Recommended for kids ages 5 and up, but the whole family is welcome to join in!
All Ages Pizza and Game Night with The Dealt Hand
Friday, April 7th, 5:30 – 8:30 pm
Play a board game and have some pizza at the library! The Dealt Hand will bring an assortment of games and be ready to help you choose and learn to play. This free event is great for families to attend together, board games for all ages will be available. Children 11 and under should be accompanied by an adult. Registration encouraged.
Read & Create
Saturday, April 29th, 10:30 – 11:15 am
In this special family program, we’ll host a storytime session followed by activities for the family inspired by the read-alouds. Stories and projects will be geared towards lower elementary kids with adult participation. The whole family is welcome to come and participate! For this month, we will be using library materials to build your own kites!
