Thursday, October 20th, 3:00-6:00 pm
Mascot Scribbles loves autumn and wants to celebrate with kids and families! Pick up a pumpkin to take home and decorate while supplies last. Visit and feed the friendly farm animals at Hovick Family Farm’s Petting Zoo. The Norwalk Robo Warriors will provide face painting. Get a balloon animal from Von Von’s Balloons. We will share seasonal stories at this indoor/outdoor drop-in event. Children are welcome to come in costume. Free, no registration required.
Jigsaw Puzzle Competition
Saturday, October 22nd, 3:00-6:00 pm
The competition is fierce and the stakes are high in this family-friendly event! We will host 2 rounds with different 500-piece jigsaw puzzles, competing to be the first team to finish in the allotted time. Each team gets to take home their puzzle. We will have light refreshments on hand for participants and spectators to enjoy but you are welcome to bring your own! Each round will feature a door prize and a first place prize. We request a registration so we can plan for an approximate number.
Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:30 am
We’ve got books, songs, and rhymes at this fun, interactive storytime recommended for ages 2-5 with a parent or caregiver. Storytime will last about 25 minutes followed by optional playtime.
Thursdays, 9:30 – 10:00 am
Join us for rhymes, songs, and stories for you and your baby in this infant storytime. This storytime is designed to help develop early literacy skills and encourage language development, as well as to provide caregivers with rhymes and songs to practice with baby and strengthen your bond. Older children are welcome to attend to help with the rhymes and songs for baby! Ages 0 – 18 months.
Every other Thursday, 10:00 – 11:00 am
Following infant storytime every other Thursday morning, with exceptions for holidays, join us for our special STEAM storytime. The first half of the hour will be a traditional storytime with rhymes, movement activities, and read-alouds, and the second half will be dedicated to STEAM activities inspired by our storytime selections to encourage exploration and to establish the groundwork for scientific inquiry. Ages 4 – 6.
Early Out Wednesdays
Wednesdays, 2:30 – 4:00 pm
Kids can join us for crafts and activities in the meeting room; recommended for grades K-5. Free- no registration is required at this drop-in program. Held on Wednesdays when Norwalk schools are in session and releasing early.
Movers & Makers
First and Fourth Tuesdays, 3:45 – 5:00 pm
The first and fourth Tuesday of the month, we will host special after-school programs that will include read-alouds, games or movement activities, and a themed craft. Caregivers are encouraged to attend and participate with their child and must either be present in the room or in the library at all times. Registration preferred. Ages 6 – 9.
